You don’t want to receive Whatsapp messages from certain people? Now there’s a new way to hide chats without you bothering to block contacts.
So, how? You can simply use the archive feature. This feature can make chat contacts in an archived and muted state. Interestingly, this feature can be set as desired.
This feature has been tested in April 2019. In this way, users can create chat contacts to keep them in an archived and muted state.
“Archive on WhatsApp allows you to manage private messages and prioritize important chats. Archived Chats will still be archived and muted but you can still change them back,” WhatsApp wrote on its Twitter account.
This feature makes the chat contact of other users can be muted when there are new messages that come in. All chats will be archived and remain permanently saved.
By default, the feature will separate chats even if there are new messages that come in. When the chat comes in, there will be no notification, unless your name is mentioned and the message is replied to.
This new ability is different from the previous one. Individual and group archived chat threads will be canceled when a new message enters our account.
In its official blog, WhatsApp explains that the feature aims to give users more control over their inbox. In addition, messages remain on top of the user’s most important chats.
To disable this feature, users can go to the Keep Chat Archived option in the Chats menu.
